A 54-year-old man with a criminal record has been arrested by National Police officers for allegedly falsifying documents in the private security sector. Following alerts from companies in the sector, investigators uncovered activities that constituted trespass in the private security sector, such as the creation and endorsement of security plans, offered by a fake company lacking the necessary administrative approval for such operations.
The individual portrayed himself to companies as a private security salesperson, leveraging his personal connections to provide services and deals in this sector through various forged documents aimed at building trust with potential clients. These services were purportedly delivered by dummy companies not authorised by the requisite administrative body to do so.
This individual was reported several weeks ago for endorsing a security plan for an event in the town of Adeje without the necessary authorisation. Upon verifying the facts, the National Police proceeded to arrest him and, after giving a statement at the police station, he was handed over to the appropriate judicial authority.
The General Directorate of Police holds authority over private security operations through specialised units. Offering private security services to third parties without the required authorisation or engaging private security services from individuals or entities lacking the necessary authorisation or accreditation is deemed a severe violation as outlined in article 57 of Law 5/2014, dated April 4, concerning Private Security. The competent authorities are empowered to impose fines ranging from €3,001 to €30,000.
