SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 13 July (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Endesa Foundation and the Diocesan Caritas of Tenerife, as part of their ‘Mila’ initiative, are conducting additional vocational training for electricians and photovoltaic panel installation operators, with the participation of 14 individuals. Currently, 11 of them are undergoing non-work internships, having commenced their training in March.
The ‘Mila’ project focuses on supporting unemployed individuals by creating comprehensive integration programs that encompass job guidance, enhancement of basic skills, and referral to specific vocational training. The aim is to provide professional certification training based on regional assessments conducted in collaboration with relevant companies and stakeholders.
The training for electricians and solar panel installers is designed to teach the techniques and procedures involved in photovoltaic installations, emphasising theoretical and practical knowledge related to electricity. The current edition specifically concentrates on expanding electrical knowledge and prioritising occupational risk prevention.
Moreover, the project caters to the general unemployment issues and addresses the unique challenges faced by migrants attempting to enter the Canarian job market, especially those without recognised formal qualifications or accredited work experience.
By addressing the demands of job profiles sought by companies and the specific needs of participants in the ‘Mila’ project, it becomes apparent that there is a shortage of certified professionals and individuals with relevant safety training within the industry.
Throughout the program, participants receive continuous support, including training supervision, periodic visits to the Training Centre for progress review, personalised guidance sessions, and tailored analysis of individual requirements.
The training also covers Basic Employability Skills, with a focus on interview techniques and CV preparation, providing personalised coaching to enhance essential communication skills for job interviews.
This initiative falls under the Endesa Foundation’s Employment Training division, which implements training and job integration programs for vulnerable individuals. Since 2011, the Endesa Foundation has partnered with Cáritas Española to conduct specialised training courses in various locations, resulting in over 200 trained individuals in Tenerife alone, with nearly a hundred successfully placed in the labour market.
The primary goal is to enhance the employment prospects of these groups, promoting their integration into the workforce, personal development in skills, and abilities. Moisés Santamaría, a participant in this program, expresses gratitude to the Endesa Foundation and Caritas Diocesana de Tenerife “for the opportunities provided.”
Moisés emphasises that the ‘Mila’ project has been a significant opportunity, enabling him to gain valuable skills, obtain recognised certification, and explore new avenues for professional growth. He expresses deep appreciation for the support and commitment shown by both organisations in assisting individuals like him in achieving their aspirations.
