Commencing this Friday, the Tenerife Island Council will be implementing charges for entry to the Masca ravine within the Teno Natural Park. This announcement was made by the Corporation’s president on Wednesday, without specifying the exact fee or who it applies to.
These uncertainties were cleared up on Friday, when Dávila herself revealed the pricing on social media, as outlined below:
- Tenerife Residents: 0 euros for access.
- Canary Islands Residents: 3 euros for access.
- Tourists: 28 euros for admission.
Dávila’s announcement specifies that these rates do not include IGIC.
According to the president, the implementation of the “eco-tax” will enable the Council to “enhance visitor safety and decrease the need for evacuations and rescues.”
