SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 9th Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Tenerife Island Council, in collaboration with the Government of the Canary Islands, has dedicated 974,320.20 euros towards the organization ‘I want to be like you, help me’ in La Victoria. This association offers services to individuals in need of care or those with functional diversity, managing a total of 60 placements across three types of services: residential, daytime, and Personal Autonomy Promotion (PAP).
Águeda Fumero, the Councillor for Social Action, met with representatives from the association to discuss various aspects of the partnership agreement that aligns the efforts of both organizations, alongside visiting the facilities.
The residential service includes 10 placements at the ‘La Casita’ residence, a facility that offers comprehensive social and healthcare based on individual requirements.
The daytime service provides 30 placements at the ‘Doña Severa Hernández León’ centre, a specialist facility that delivers holistic care to individuals in need, aimed at enhancing or preserving their level of personal autonomy, while also providing support to their families or caregivers.
Furthermore, the Personal Autonomy Promotion service features 20 placements, delivering comprehensive interventions to foster an independent and self-reliant lifestyle.
Fumero stated in a release that “these 60 placements uphold service quality and enable the execution of activities, programs, and specialized workshops that enhance the users’ quality of life.” He also praised “the excellent condition of the centre, ensuring complete accessibility for both residents and daily visitors.”
The Minister of Social Action highlighted that “educational interventions are facilitated by the exceptional team of professionals on board,” underscoring that “this organization not only enhances care quality in the Acentejo region but also aids in job creation and offers family relief to those associated with the organization.”
