The Tenerife Provincial Association of Building Firms (Fepeco) has urged the Council to exercise “more effective and efficient management in maintaining the island’s roads.”
As an illustration, they highlight the Ronda Road also known as TF-13, which connects TF-5 to Punta Hidalgo and is in a “deplorable state of repair, patched up in a way that increases the risk for drivers”.
Over 100,000 individuals travel this route daily, including approximately 22,000 vehicles from Las Canteras, Tegueste, Tejina, Bajamar, Punta del Hidalgo and Valle Guerra, with a combined population exceeding 36,000 residents heading towards La Laguna or Santa Cruz,” the business association highlighted.
The president of Fepeco, Oscar Izquierdo, has called upon the Council to take action, as “we are voicing the discontent of locals and commuters who are expressing their frustration at the neglect they are facing.”
