Yesterday, the community of Tijoco Bajo marked the start of its traditional festivities in honour of the Virgen del Carmen and San Antonio Abad. The festivities committee has crafted a schedule of activities that guarantees amusement for individuals of all ages until this Monday in the main square of the neighbourhood.
Emphasising the significance of these celebrations, the Mayor of Adeje, José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, stated, “July mandates the allocation of time in the calendar for these days of festivity and merriment amongst residents and visitors from various parts of the municipality and beyond the island. We will partake in moments of camaraderie and cohabitation, reminiscing about the patron saint and all those who, throughout the years, have played a role in the festivities and traditions of this cherished and exemplary location in Adeje.”
The leader affirms that without the dedication to “uphold and safeguard our practices and customs, the essence of the people, it would have been significantly more challenging. Thus, a thank you to all those who endorse or engage in any form in these festive days.”
