SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 4th Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Today, the Governing Chamber of the High Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC) convened for the first time in history on the picturesque island of San Sebastián de La Gomera. The meeting took place at the Cabildo building in the capital of the island, and the detailed minutes of the event will be accessible on the TSJC’s transparency portal within the next few days.
This marks the fourth occasion since the establishment of the TSJC in May 1989 that the governing body of the Archipelago’s Justice has gathered in a plenary session beyond the capital islands. The previous instances occurred in Santa Cruz de La Palma on April 28, 2022; Puerto del Rosario on November 3 of the same year, and Arrecife on November 28, 2023.
In addition to the main meeting, a delegation from the TSJC arranged a productive sit-down on Thursday afternoon with officials from the Ministry of the Presidency, Public Administrations, Justice and Security of the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo of La Gomera, the director of La Gomera, and the mayors of the six municipalities within the San Sebastián de La Gomera judicial zone.
Continuing the momentum, Friday will see the resumption of discussions at the Cabildo de La Gomera headquarters, with the meeting of the Joint Commission for Cooperation and Coordination between the Ministry of the Presidency, Public Administrations, Justice and Security and the High Court of Justice of the Canary Islands.
