Today, Tuesday, the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Interchange hall unveiled the exhibition ‘150 Years of Humanitarian Action in the Canary Islands’, shedding light on the Red Cross’s efforts in the Archipelago. The exhibition will be open for viewing until July 30 in the Interchange hall.
The inauguration was graced by the presence of Titsa’s CEO, Vicky Padilla, accompanied by the Canary Islands’ Red Cross President, Mayte Pocyello Marty, alongside various members of the institution’s regional and provincial leadership.
Additionally, Ana Benedicto, the head of the Provincial Museum and Archive of the Red Cross, provided a brief tour of the exhibition to guests, outlining its key highlights.
Vicky Padilla lauded the humanitarian endeavours of the Red Cross over its history and expressed her pride in the institution collaborating with the company to raise awareness and educate Tenerife’s population about the institution’s significance. She also took the opportunity to encourage individuals to volunteer and further support the Red Cross’s activities.
Mayte Pociello highlighted that the exhibition aims to educate visitors about the Red Cross’s work over the past 150 years, not only during emergencies and disasters but also in supporting vulnerable individuals. Pociello also expressed gratitude towards Titsa for their assistance and generosity in providing the exhibition space, enabling outreach to a wider audience.
The mobile exhibition ‘150 Years of Humanitarian Action in the Canary Islands’ offers a detailed historical journey through eight totems, each with three sides, depicting the evolution of the Red Cross’s efforts in the islands, showcasing significant images from the organization’s history.
