The Municipal Police of San Cristobal de La Laguna has released a series of recommendations to guarantee the safety of children throughout the summer period. In a recent update on the social platform “X”, the local authority has advised parents and guardians to maintain constant supervision over minors, particularly in coastal areas and pools where the risk of accidents is heightened.
Emphasising the importance of close monitoring of children while they are in the water is paramount according to the Police. Continuous surveillance is crucial to prevent mishaps and ensure the safe enjoyment of children. They also underline the necessity to adhere to safety guidelines and heed the flags indicating sea conditions at beaches.
An additional crucial point is the utilisation of certified life vests. The Local Police strongly advocate for children to use these safety aids to reduce risks while swimming or participating in water activities.
Furthermore, it is recommended to enrol children in swimming classes. This measure not only enhances their water confidence but also equips them with essential skills to react appropriately in case of an emergency.
These recommendations aim to promote awareness regarding the significance of prevention and safety during the summer, encouraging everyone to responsibly relish the summer season.
