The VI Tenerife Costume Festival is taking place this week in Icod de los Vinos, with a representation from the costumes of Tegueste, Valle de Guerra, El Palmar, Buenavista del Norte, El Tanque, and Icod de Los Vinos. This event is an initiative of the newly formed Tenerife Cultural Costume Federation, which is organizing the event in collaboration with the Icod de los Vinos City Council and the public company Icodtesa.
Throughout the week, as reported by the City Council, visitors can enjoy an exhibition at Casa Los Cáceres showcasing all the costumes participating in the festival. “An opportunity to see up close and in detail each of these traditions.” The exhibition will be available until Friday, July 5th, and the visiting hours are from 10:00 to 13:00, “always free of charge”.
Also on Friday, starting at 7:30 pm, a roundtable will be held at Casa Los Cáceres to discuss the tradition of costumes and the characteristics of each, “along with professionals who will provide different perspectives.”

The highlight of the event will be on Saturday, July 6th, with a parade starting at 8:00 pm from San Agustín Street and moving along San Sebastián Street until it reaches Plaza Andrés de Lorenzo Cáceres. Each costume will be represented in the following order: Tegueste costume (Tegueste), Buenavista del Norte Village costume (Buenavista del Norte), Taganana costume (Santa Cruz de Tenerife), El Palmar costume (Buenavista del Norte), Valle de Guerra costume (La Laguna), and Angustias costume (Icod).
