The Superior Police Headquarters in Canarias strengthens its workforce with the addition of 184 rookie police officers in the Basic Scale, who will carry out their training at the various police stations on the islands, 101 in the province of Las Palmas and 83 in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The Government Delegate in the Canary Islands, Anselmo Pestana Padrón and the Chief of Police in the Canary Islands, Jesús María Gómez Martín, presided over the incorporation ceremony of the new officers on Monday.

The police officers from the XXXIX Basic Scale promotion will serve for 12 months in various police units after completing the theoretical training period, where they acquired knowledge in various subjects such as criminal and procedural law, investigative techniques, forensic science, languages, self-defense, and firearms training, among others.

These 184 rookie officers constitute a significant reinforcement in all the police stations on the islands, as highlighted by the Government Delegation in the Canary Islands, where the National Police is present, both for the Summer Operation and for the security of the Canarian population.
