A man aged 40 tragically lost his life on Sunday following a bicycle accident on the TF-21 highway in Adeje, Tenerife. This information was reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (Cecoes) 1-1-2.
The incident took place around 7:15 p.m. when the 1-1-2 operations centre received a distress call regarding a cyclist falling on the mentioned road. Consequently, Cecoes promptly mobilised the necessary emergency services.
The environmental teams from Cabildo were the first responders on the scene, providing initial assistance to the victim under the guidance of a doctor from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC). Subsequently, the medical helicopter arrived following instructions from Cecoes.
Collaborative efforts from the Civil Guard and the Canarian Police were crucial in facilitating the helicopter landing and securing the accident site. The SUC ambulance transported the medical team from a Health Centre to the location. Upon reaching the scene, the medical helicopter team sadly confirmed that the individual was in cardiac arrest and despite their advanced resuscitation attempts, they were unable to save him.
