SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 30th June (EUROPA PRESS) –
A man, aged 43, had to be rescued on Saturday afternoon following an accident while climbing in the Playa Mesa del Mar region, located in the municipality of Tacoronte, Tenerife.
Information provided by the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (Cecoes) 112 states that due to the challenging accessibility of the location where the victim was stranded, the GES helicopter was dispatched.
The helicopter successfully executed the rescue operation and airlifted the individual to the La Guancha helipad, from where an SUC ambulance took over for further medical attention and transportation to the Hospital del Norte. The climber was admitted with moderate injuries to his lower limb.
In the collaborative effort for the rescue mission, Tenerife Firefighters also assisted the GES team in successfully evacuating the injured climber.
