Tomorrow, the Department of Culture of the Tacoronte Municipal Council is hosting the 33rd annual pilgrimage honouring Saint Isidore the Labourer. The pilgrimage will follow its traditional route, from the Santa Catalina parish to La Alhóndiga.
The festivities will kick off at 12:00 with a customary religious ceremony, followed by the grand procession involving 25 decorated carts and approximately twenty folklore groups and musical bands from various parts of the island.
Organisers are anticipating a turnout of over 5,000 individuals for the event, which will feature an array of local products and fine Tacoronte wine.
Following the pilgrimage, a lively street party will take place in Plaza de Santa Catalina, with musical entertainment provided by the Dinacord orchestra and the La Calle ensemble. This celebration marks the culmination of the 2024 festive calendar, which also includes other highlights such as a special performance by Los Sabandeños tonight at 9:00 p.m. and an exhibition of native Canarian livestock breeds at Plaza del Cristo tomorrow from 10:00 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon, accompanied by children’s arts and crafts workshops.
