The House of Horrors: Report on the deplorable condition of a migrant minors centre in Lanzarote

The Network of Solidarity with Migrant People from Lanzarote denounces the deplorable state in which Casa del Mar is located in Arrecife, one of the buildings accommodating unaccompanied minor migrants arriving on the Island in boats.
The state of the facilities with furniture, “walls and plugs in poor condition, ant and cockroach infestations, broken blinds, loose electrical cables and lack of control in drug consumption, in addition to abuse towards minors”, are some of the situations that have already been reported to the Prosecutor’s Office by lawyers Irma Ferrer and Loueila Mint El Mammy. The issue has also reached the Ombudsman.
