The Tenerife tram will be switching to its summer schedule starting next Monday, 1st of July. Line 1 will operate every 6 minutes on weekdays, and Line 2 every 12 minutes during the morning peak hours. Additionally, public transport on the island, including buses and trams, will have increased services on Saturday due to the expected higher demand for the Ed Sheeran concert at Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López.
Metrotenerife has announced that starting Monday, Line 1 will operate from 07:00 to 15:00 every six minutes and Line 2 every twelve minutes. The frequency will adjust throughout the rest of the weekday until the service ends at midnight. The summer timetable will only be in effect from Monday to Friday, with regular frequencies and schedules maintained over the weekend throughout the night.
On Monday 8th, further adjustments to the schedule according to demand are anticipated. Line 1 will run every 7 minutes on weekdays, and Line 2 with 14-minute intervals. The summer schedule will be extended until early September. Users can check this information on the website metrotenerife.com, and on the company’s social media channels.
Furthermore, the Cabildo will enhance public transport for the Ed Sheeran concert on Saturday at Heliodoro Rodríguez López. Specifically, the tram will reinforce Line 1, while Titsa will do the same for six bus routes.
Metrotenerife will provide trams on demand both before and after the event. Additionally, the Tenerife operator will monitor passenger volume at Line 1 stops, allowing for the addition of up to three extra vehicles to the service.
Titsa will bolster services on six bus lines for the concert attendees. In Santa Cruz urban routes, the 908 (Intercambiador-Ofra-Intercambiador), 934 (Circular Intercambiador-Taco-Santa María del Mar-Añaza-Intercambiador), and 936 (Circular Intercambiador-Añaza-Santa María del Mar-Taco-Intercambiador) will be reinforced. The enhanced interurban routes will be the 014 (Intercambiador de Santa Cruz-Intercambiador de La Laguna via La Cuesta) and 232 (Intercambiador de Santa Cruz-El Cardonal-La Gallega). Additionally, the 111 line (Santa Cruz-Los Cristianos-Costa Adeje) will increase its trips to connect the southern part of the island with the capital.
