Renowned actress Malena Alterio was honoured with the Tribute Star at the grand opening ceremony of the 19th edition of Festivalito La Palma for her illustrious career, spanning over two decades in cinema, television, and theatre. Her outstanding contributions have positioned her as one of the most remarkable actresses in our cultural heritage, culminating in her winning the Goya for Best Actress this year for her performance in ‘Let Nobody Sleep’.

Malena also conveyed the significance of receiving the Polar Star from Festivalito La Palma. “It’s an incredibly touching recognition because the work done here touches me deeply,” confided Malena. She also expressed feeling “privileged” due to the diversity of artists who have been acknowledged. Naturally, discussions about her career, interesting facts, and anecdotes from one of Spain’s most celebrated actresses who was stepping into La Palma for the first time were abundant. “I haven’t even left yet, and I’m already looking forward to returning.”
