SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 24th June (EUROPA PRESS) –
Manuel Domínguez, the Vice President of the Government of the Canary Islands and President of the PP of the Canary Islands, has decided not to participate in the series of meetings that the President of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, has scheduled with the Minister of Territorial Policy, Ángel Víctor Torres, and the spokespersons of the Congress. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss the mandatory referral agreement for unaccompanied migrant minors.
This information was shared with journalists by Luz Reverón, the President of the Popular Parliamentary Group, who also mentioned that plane tickets had already been reserved for the Madrid trip.
Elaborating on this decision, Reverón stated, “Considering the recent statements where politics seem to be intertwined with management, he has chosen to step back and suggested to the President to lead the discussions so that the focus remains on the issue at hand and not on political agendas. This is not a matter of politics. This is a matter concerning the State that needs to be addressed.”
