SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 23rd June (EUROPA PRESS) –
Peñín is back in Tenerife with a fresh instalment of its Salón Selección, a gathering point for wine producers and industry experts from the islands, aimed at showcasing the highest quality segment of wineries. The event is scheduled for next Tuesday, 25th June, at the Iberostar Heritage Grand Mencey (C/ Dr. José Naveiras, 38), running continuously from 12:00 to 20:00.
This fifth edition of the event will feature over 200 wines from 55 wineries, all falling within the categories of Top Wines (rated 90 points or higher) and Best Bargains (with 3, 4, or 5 Stars). Attendees will also get a chance to sample new vintages that will soon hit the market and have recently been assessed for the 2025 edition of the Peñín Guide.
True to form, Peñín will spotlight local wineries. Thanks to the support of the Cabildo of Tenerife, a collaborator of the event, five island wineries will be showcased: Altos de Trevejos, Bodegas Insulares Tenerife, Bodegas LoHer, Bodega Piedra Fluida, and Winery Burgmann Tenerife. The Hierro Designation of Origin will have a significant presence, featuring the finest wineries (Mirador de Adra, Sdad. Cooperativa del Campo Frontera – Vinícola Insular, Cornicales, and Elysar) from this burgeoning region.
Additionally, fifteen wineries from the Sierras de Salamanca DOP will debut as a collective in the Canary Islands. They will exhibit the distinct traits of Salamancan wines in their dedicated space, highlighting the potential of Rufete, its most emblematic varietal.
