Troubled waters are stirring in the municipality of Isora Guide. This week it was confirmed that David Reyes has left theCoalition Canaria, becoming unaffiliated and leaving the government group in the minority against the opposition.
Until now, he served as the deputy mayor and councillor responsible for the Municipal Services, Health, Concessionaires and Services Companies, Works, Transport, and Human Resources. A position of great responsibility that, for now, remains vacant following David Reyes’ departure from Ana Dorta‘s government.
From the opposition’s side, the PSOE has spoken out, stating that this move confirms “the lack of leadership” of the current mayoress. This is how the socialists view the situation in the Isora council:
“In the Socialist Party, we are closely following the events occurring in the Guía de Isora City Council in recent months.
The latest episode, a Councilor from Coalition Canaria, David Reyes, the second Deputy Mayor, has left the Government group, whose responsibilities were of great importance for municipal management.
What has been heard has been uncovered: constant conflicts between the Mayoress and several of her councillors, and above all, Ana Dorta’s evident lack of leadership to lead her government group and also the Municipality of Guía de Isora. Respect is not gained by shouting or imposing one’s opinion without listening to colleagues.
The PSOE of Guía de Isora has remained silent in the face of the constant crisis of Coalition Canaria caused by Mrs. Dorta, but given the seriousness of the situation and the lack of direction where significant subsidies for the Municipality have been lost in recent times, such as housing, construction of new educational centres, and the tourism investment plan, in which other municipalities benefit, by defending and being attentive to these investments, which benefit the residents.
We ask the Mayoress to resolve this situation or step aside.
The sad thing is that after the departure of a member of her team, she is now trying to resolve the issue by offering some PSOE Councillors a position in exchange for their support. Our PSOE Councillors are not for sale. Her behaviour is an offence to our party and also to the voters of the municipality.

This is the regrettable assessment of one year of Mrs. Dorta’s government.”
