The Guardia Civil has apprehended three individuals in connection with the disappearance and homicide of a Belgian couple living in Tenerife. The arrests, carried out as part of a joint investigation with the Belgian Federal Police, took place in Belgium and Tenerife. The operation remains ongoing as procedures are completed and the detainees are handed over.
In April, the disappearance of Marc F., 71, and Laura G., 66, both residents of Tenerife, was reported by the association SOS Disappeared. Shortly after, Laura G.’s dismembered body was found floating off the coast of the municipality of Arico, with a plastic bag over her head. The autopsy confirmed that the death had been violent.
Two of the arrests were made in Belgium and one in Tenerife, as part of an operation led by the Investigating Court number 1 of Arona, which has declared the proceedings confidential. The collaboration with the Belgian Federal Police has been crucial for the progress of the investigation.
First Arrest in Tenerife
The first arrest took place in Tenerife, where the Guardia Civil apprehended an individual directly linked to the case. This arrest provided crucial information to advance the investigation and coordinate with Belgian authorities.

The arrests in Belgium were carried out simultaneously, thanks to the close cooperation between the Guardia Civil and the Belgian Federal Police. The detainees in Belgium are now awaiting transfer to Spain to continue with the judicial process.
Ongoing Investigation
The operation remains open as necessary procedures are completed and the detainees are handed over. Authorities are working to clarify all the details of the case and determine the exact role of each detainee in the murder of the Belgian couple.
The Investigating Court number 1 of Arona is leading the investigation and has declared a secrecy order to protect the integrity of the investigation and ensure that all necessary evidence can be obtained without interference.
