The Guardia Civil Maintains “All Possibilities Open” in the Search for Jay, the British Traveller who Vanished in Teno Rural Park

The search for the 19-year-old British tourist, who was reported missing by two friends in the Teno Rural Park area last Monday, has entered its second day with the Guardia Civil intensifying its efforts, according to sources from the law enforcement agency.

The search efforts until Wednesday morning were concentrated in the Masca ravine and neighbouring areas. Special Mountain Intervention Rescue Groups (GREIM), canine units, Civil Protection drones, and citizen patrols from the Guardia Civil are all involved, stating that they are exploring all possible leads without ruling anything out.

Following the unsuccessful search in those areas, the operation has now expanded to include the tourist spots of Las Américas and Los Cristianos.

The UK Foreign Ministry has expressed solidarity with the missing tourist’s family and is collaborating with local authorities to locate him.

The missing individual has been identified as Jay Dean S., a resident of Lancashire, who had travelled to Tenerife for a music festival and a vacation with friends.

Reports from Manchestereveningnews mention statements from the missing boy’s mother, who has travelled to Tenerife with her eldest son to support the search efforts.

The mother revealed that her son contacted a friend before his phone lost charge; he mentioned being lost and thirsty.

She also mentioned receiving calls from anonymous numbers claiming they had abducted her son over a debt.

The SOS Missing Association has issued an alert regarding this case, describing it as highly concerning.

Jay Dean S. is described as a slim, 1.80 meters tall male with black hair and blue eyes, last seen in white pants, a polo shirt, and black and blue trainers.
