No Bonfires in the Forest Area of Tenerife for San Juan Celebrations

The Tenerife Cabildo has declared a ban on bonfires in the forest area of Tenerife, as well as in the rural parks of Teno and Anaga, in light of the fire risk during the San Pedro and San Juan festivities.

After the Government Council meeting, Cabildo President Rosa Dávila announced that a forest fire alert has been in place on the island since June 3, extending until November 3.

Bonfires in other areas will require authorization from the respective town councils, which will assess compliance with regulations.

The Firefighters Consortium, according to the Cabildo President, will enhance its resources for the duration of the two celebrations.
