SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 18th June (EUROPA PRESS) –
A rescue operation led by officers from the Special Mountain Intervention Rescue Group (GREIM) of the Civil Guard and a helicopter has been deployed since Monday night to locate a 19-year-old English gentleman who has gone missing in the Teno Rural Park.
The search efforts have initially concentrated on the vicinity of the Masca village, situated in the municipality of Buenavista del Norte, as communicated by sources from the Civil Guard to Europa Press. It was friends of the young man who were visiting the island and reported him missing.
According to reports from British media, the young man travelled to the island on a holiday to attend a music festival along with two companions. It is believed he later ended up at the residence of individuals he had recently met, which was quite a distance from where he was staying.
During his last communication with his friends, his phone’s battery was critically low. He expressed being unable to catch the bus, walking aimlessly with no familiarity of his whereabouts, and feeling extremely parched.
