Officers from the Local Police of La Orotava, in Tenerife, intercepted a car that had fled the scene after hitting several parked vehicles in a residential area in the town. The surprise came when a considerable sum of money was discovered upon inspecting the abandoned car.
The incident took place early on Tuesday. The Police have confirmed that a “significant amount of money” in cash was found inside the vehicle. Following the discovery, the car was transported to the municipal storage facilities, where the officers conducted a thorough search.
The Canine Unit of the Local Police was called to the location to assist in the operation, as reported by the Security and Emergencies Department of the La Orotava City Council.
The officers initiated procedures to investigate a potential offence related to road safety.
