The Spanish Tourism Institute (Turespaña) has officially opened registrations today for the fourth edition of the Turespaña Conference, themed ‘A new tourism era: utilising cutting-edge technologies’. This year’s conference will take place in Tenerife, at the Pirámide de Arona Convention Centre, from 1st to 3rd October. The focus will be on the digital transformation of the tourism sector, leveraging technology to innovate products and enhance operational models while ensuring sustainable practices.
The Turespaña Conference is primarily targeted at management and marketing entities of Spanish tourist destinations, tourism product and service companies, as well as representatives from public and private organisations, universities, and tech firms associated with the tourism industry. A total of 600 attendees are expected for the in-person event.

The Turespaña Conference serves as an annual forum and collaborative platform bringing together the public sector, tourist destinations, companies, and tourism professionals to establish sustainable networks and foster an environment for exchanging best practices and setting collective objectives towards promoting international tourism destinations, with a focus on the 2025 vision.
The three-day IV Turespaña Conference in 2024 will have a two-part structure. Firstly, on Wednesday 2nd October and Thursday 3rd October, there will be presentations, round table discussions on tourism trends, best practices/experiences, and market insights, with key emphasis on technology and sustainability. Participation will include representatives from both public and private sectors discussing Turespaña’s upcoming plans for the following year, as well as providing dynamic insights on key markets by international tourism consultants.
A new addition for this year will be a dedicated day on Tuesday 1st October for bilateral technical meetings between international tourism consultants, Turespaña staff, and the Secretary of State for Tourism with destinations and tourism enterprises.
Tenerife Tourism will also conduct a networking programme to showcase the island’s tourism offerings with a strong focus on digital and sustainable aspects encompassing economic, social, and environmental dimensions. The detailed agenda for the IV Turespaña Conference will be released soon.
