SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 15th June (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Civil Guard apprehended two young individuals, aged 18 and 19 respectively, both inhabitants of the town of La Orotava (Tenerife), for allegedly committing a crime against public health, specifically drug trafficking by discarding 200 MDMA tablets out of the car window upon noticing the presence of the authorities.
In an official statement, the law enforcement agency clarified that the incident occurred during a routine check of individuals and vehicles.
Upon observing the police, the person seated in the front passenger seat of the vehicle decided to toss a bag out of the window, which upon inspection was found to contain 200 MDMA tablets or ecstasy (weighing 160 grams) branded with a logo of a popular luxury car brand.
As a result of the search, two mobile phones were confiscated, along with the vehicle utilised in the commission of the offence, which was handed over to the competent Judicial Authority.
Subsequently, the detainees, together with the related procedures, were brought before the Investigative Court of Guardia de La Orotava, with a decision made to detain both individuals involved.
