The Department of Social Welfare and Quality of Life of the City Council of La Laguna has announced a call for social assistance amounting to 60,000 euros for the renovation of private homes within the municipality, as published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
This funding is intended to support individuals or families in need of making improvements to their primary residence, but lack the necessary financial means to do so. The City Council highlighted in a statement on Saturday that the primary objective is to ensure livability, structural safety, and home accessibility.
Eligible expenses include the cost of carrying out the renovations, materials, labour, additional expenses, and administrative procedures, among other associated project costs.
When assessing the applications, consideration will be given to the income of the applicant or all members of their family unit, with priority given to those in more challenging socio-economic circumstances.
The maximum individual aid amount that the local authority can provide is set at 15,000 euros.
In cases of extreme urgency, however, the City Council reserves the right to increase the aforementioned sum following evaluation by municipal technical reports, to effectively address and rectify any housing deficiencies on a broader scale.
