The City Council of Candelaria has demonstrated its strong dedication to training and employment by implementing 27 Training with Employment Programs (PFAE) at a cost of nearly 8 million euros, benefiting 409 individuals. Mayor of Candelaria, Mari Brito, expressed her pride in the effective outcomes of these programs, with 84% of participants successfully entering the job market within two years after completing the project.
These impressive statistics were revealed during a welcoming event for members of the four ongoing employment training programs. The mayor reaffirmed the council’s commitment to progress and emphasised the importance of obtaining new qualifications and professional certificates aligned with the job market’s needs and the training priorities set by the Canarian Employment Service. Special focus is given to supporting unemployed women over 45 years old who lack professional qualifications.
During the event, the 60 student-workers benefitted from informative talks on professional certificates and job placement delivered by María Isabel Hernández, a technician from the Training subdirectorate of the Canarian Employment Service, and Concepción Ramírez, a technician from the Center of National Reference of Los Realejos.
