Anti-terrorism Operation Leads to Detention of Nine Individuals, Two Held in Tenerife

The Civil Guard conducted a widespread operation across various Spanish provinces this Tuesday against a network of websites hosting jihadist content. Nine individuals were arrested, including two in Los Realejos, located in the northern part of Tenerife. The operation involved several searches and is still ongoing.

According to sources close to the investigation, raids were conducted in Algeciras (Cádiz), Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Almería, and Salt (Girona) on the same day.

The arrests took place in Antas (Almería), two in Algeciras, four in Salt (Girona), and two in Los Realejos (Tenerife).

Sources have revealed that the operation is being led by the Central Investigative Court number 3 of the National Court, focusing on websites that promote content related to Daesh’s activities and members.

The Civil Guard identified individuals who were heavily engaged in downloading and sharing content from these websites during the investigation.

EFE was informed by the Mayor of Antas about an arrest in the town during the early hours, describing the entrance into the individual’s house by authorities. “In a small town, the arrival of 14 or 15 police officers with dogs drew everyone’s attention,” he mentioned.
