SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 11th June (EUROPA PRESS) –
Today, the Cabildo of Tenerife introduced a fresh initiative named Export Lab, designed to assist companies on the island engaged in exporting. This programme aims to support exporting companies in incorporating new digital tools to enhance their sales efforts, particularly in markets beyond the Canary Islands.
This endeavour is made possible through funding from the Island Directorate of Foreign Action of the Cabildo of Tenerife. This collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Santa Cruz de Tenerife complements other internationalisation support programmes such as Tenerife + Global, designed for companies venturing into international markets, and Tenerife Licita, focused on securing contracts from global entities like the World Bank or the United Nations.
Lope Afonso, the Vice President and Tourism Adviser, affirmed the necessity of a progression reflected in the Export Lab initiative. With an initial budget of 50,000 Euros, this edition aims to benefit a maximum of 20 companies. Afonso stated, “Our aim is to contribute to enhancing Tenerife’s economic trade balance and exploiting opportunities effectively, to provide continuous growth for this programme.”
Arturo Escuder, President of the Foreign Trade Commission of the provincial Chamber of Commerce, expressed enthusiasm for this new internationalisation competitiveness programme, aiming to bolster companies’ resilience and adaptability to market changes to enhance their competitiveness. Escuder stressed the importance of incorporating new technologies in today’s global landscape.
Pedro González, the Island Director of Foreign Action and Institutional Relations, described Export Lab as the first internationalisation competitiveness programme in the Canary Islands. The programme’s objectives include equipping companies with market insights, enabling automation of tasks, and leveraging artificial intelligence tools to enhance competitiveness and performance.
Export Lab features three key action areas – “economic intelligence”, “future marketing”, and “process automation”. The programme kicks off on 18th June with presentations by two national experts on obtaining market intelligence and leveraging promotional tools powered by artificial intelligence.
Following the event on the 18th, interested companies can register until the quota of 20 companies is filled. Subsequent workshops will be held post-summer, providing over 20 hours of specialised training supplemented by personalised coaching sessions.
