The Insular Crafts Company and the Sectorial Council of Clothing from Tenerife, in collaboration with Tenerife’s Metropolitan, are bringing the town of Taganana and the appropriate use of traditional clothing to the metropolitan area. The Council presented on Monday the tram screen printing showcasing the first Artisan Trades Show to be held in this Anaga village on July 27th.
The insular councillor for Employment and Education, Efraín Medina, highlighted that the Show is of “great importance as it showcases the clothing of our tradition, marking our identity.” He believes that “paying tribute to the many people in Taganana who have fought to maintain the identity of our craftsmanship and traditional clothing from our land is very interesting.” Labeling a tram “is one of the most successful promotional actions at the moment because it will allow our identity to be seen daily”.
The councillor of the Anaga District, Gladis de León, emphasized that “it is very important for Taganana to be so present in the metropolitan area and to showcase the value that this place holds in our cultural heritage”.
