The participation in the elections in Europe this Sunday, 9 June, has reached 29.45% in Canary Islands until 5:00 p.m., which is almost 11 points lower (-10.58 points) than in the European elections held in May 2019, when the turnout at the same time was 40.03%.
A total of 492,677 people have already exercised their right to vote in the Canary Islands, 153,212 fewer than in 2019, when 645,889 had voted, coinciding also with the holding of autonomous and municipal elections.
In the province of Las Palmas, the voter turnout has been 28.91% and 249,905 people have voted, 9.58% less than in the last elections.
Meanwhile, in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 242,798 people have voted, resulting in a voter turnout of 30.03%, 11.64 points lower than in the European elections held in 2019.
