In a election, there is one key requirement to exercise the right to vote: the National Identity Document (DNI). The DNI is essential to deposit the vote in the ballot box and nobody can bypass this requirement. Not even the President of the Tenerife Island Council.

Rosa Dávila headed to her polling station… twice. On the first attempt, the President went to cast her vote, but a forgetful moment made her return home: “I left my ID in another bag“. Back home she went, only to make a second trip to the polling station.

On this second journey, she was finally able to vote alongside the lead candidate of Coalición Canaria for the European elections, Carlos Alonso, along with other nationalist politicians.

Dávila highlighted the importance of these elections for the Archipelago, stating that “they are crucial for Canary Islands“. She urged the people of the Canary Islands to vote, placing abstention on the backburner and exercising their right to vote across the eight islands.
