The Cultural department of the Arona City Council is set to open an exhibition titled “90 years of King Kong” at the Los Cristianos cultural center next Monday. Visitors will have the chance to delve into the history of the most renowned movie monster in the world through original posters, high-definition replicas, and significant figures representing six of King Kong’s iconic designs over the years.
The exhibit will screen four films in chronological order, showcasing the evolution of King Kong and serving as a testament to the changing times, cinematic development, and technological advancements in the industry, all through the lens of one of the most iconic figures in cinema history.
Adding to the experience is a striking 5-meter-tall figure, a modern reimagining based on Peter Jackson’s 2005 depiction of King Kong, which will be prominently displayed at the entrance of the Cultural Center. This sculpture, crafted by the renowned Rolenart company, made its debut at the recent Calavera Island Canary Islands Fantastic Film Festival.
“This exhibition provides a fantastic opportunity for movie enthusiasts to embark on a journey through 90 years of cinematic history,” exclaimed Javier Baute, the Councilor for Culture, during a preview event.
