The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) is forecasting partly cloudy skies with mostly cloudy skies and possible light rain and moderate showers on the islands with more relief, temperatures with little change or a slight decrease, and generally light winds.

In the summits of Tenerife and La Palma, there will be intervals of strong west wind during the first half of the day, turning to moderate west.

Regarding the sea conditions, in the western islands there will be west or northwest winds of force 3 or 4, temporarily reaching 4 or 5 further out to sea, slight to moderate swell, and occasionally strong swell, while in the eastern islands it will be southwest or northeast force 3 or 4 and even 5, as well as variable force 1 to 2 with smooth to slight swell.

Northwest groundswell is expected with waves of 1 to 2 metres.

The forecast by islands is as follows:

[–>

Partly cloudy skies, mostly clear skies during the morning and with convective clouds in the east and south in the afternoon. Low chance of rain, generally light, in the east in the afternoon, not ruling out locally moderate showers in inland areas. Temperatures with little change or a slight decrease, especially the maximum temperatures in the southeast. Light variable winds mostly from the northwest, which will turn to moderate north throughout the day, slightly stronger in the east and west slopes, where the possibility of strong gusts at the end of the day cannot be ruled out. Sea breeze prevailing on the coasts.

EXPECTED MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 20 25

[–>

Partly cloudy skies, more abundant in the east in the afternoon. Temperatures with little change, with a slight decrease in the north. Light west winds that will turn to moderate north throughout the day.

EXPECTED MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

Arrecife 19 25

[–>

Mostly clear skies, with some intervals of high clouds and intervals of low clouds in the east in the latter half of the day. Temperatures with little change or a slight decrease in the maximums. Light westerly winds turning to moderate north throughout the day.

EXPECTED MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

Puerto del Rosario 18 25

LA PALMA

[–>

Expect mainly overcast skies with some clear spells on the western side during midday. There is a chance of light precipitation, mainly in the north during the first half of the day and in inland areas in the east during midday, where locally moderate showers are not ruled out. Temperatures will remain relatively stable, with slight decreases in maximum temperatures in the eastern half. Light northwest wind, turning to a moderate north wind throughout the day, slightly stronger on the east and west slopes. Sea breeze prevailing along the coast. At higher altitudes, strong westerly winds during the early morning, moderating from midday onwards.

FORECASTED MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

Santa Cruz de la Palma 19 25

Partly cloudy with a chance of light precipitation in the north during the early morning and in inland areas in the east during midday. Temperatures stable, with some slight decrease.
