SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 6th June (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Local Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife took action last Monday when they discovered a vehicle transporting food for three schools and a company without the necessary refrigeration equipment. The vehicle contained dairy products, sausages, and vegetables.
Acting on a tip-off from a concerned citizen, the police found that the refrigerated van was not using the cooling equipment properly, as it was carrying both hot and refrigerated foods. As a result, the van was instructed to return to its point of origin.
Following the established protocol by the Municipal Health Service, the local police escorted the vehicle to the catering company. Once there, they met with the company’s management and filed a complaint report that will be sent to the Tenerife City Council.
The company officials agreed to dispose of the food found in the van, as reported by the Local Police.
During the police intervention, it was noted that the temperature inside the non-compartmentalized van’s transport box was 29 degrees Celsius.
In addition to filing the complaint, the Local Police will inform the regional Health and Education departments, as well as the local health service, about the incident.
Among the contents of the refrigerated van were six containers for hot food, as well as bags containing yogurt, sausages, vegetables, and salads that were not refrigerated.
The affected educational institutions were promptly notified of the situation by the authorities.
