In the afternoon, the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Local Police in collaboration with the Fire Department took action to block entry to Tres de Mayo and one lane of the city’s bridge access near the municipal swimming pool. This action was in response to the potential detachment risk of one of the letters of the sign that greets visitors to the capital from the TF-5 highway.
At approximately 5:30 p.m. today, local authorities began traffic control in the area, while firefighters worked on securing all the letters of the Santa Cruz sign hanging from the bridge. This precautionary measure was necessary to prevent any letter from detaching and posing a hazard to passing drivers.
