The Tenerife Council announces grants for the preservation of privately owned buildings of Historical and Cultural Heritage on the island, with financial support increasing from one to two million Euros. The Insular Heritage Department calls for this allocation for the maintenance and enhancement of properties with heritage value, as announced yesterday in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP).
The department’s insular director, Isabel de Esteban, emphasizes the importance of such grants “in aiding the maintenance and improvement of buildings with heritage value, whose conservation benefits society as a whole.” She adds that “thanks to the increase in funding, it is expected that a much larger number of beneficiaries will be able to access it compared to previous calls.”
Individuals and legal entities, except for the Catholic Church and Public Administrations, which have their own aid schemes, can apply for the grants to carry out various interventions. These include maintenance, conservation, restoration, consolidation, and modernization or replacement of water supply and sanitation networks and electricity. Eligible expenses are aimed at actions to be carried out, already executed, or in progress, with a deadline of January 1, 2024.
The grants are open to individuals, community of property owners, community of assets, legal heirs, or any other type of economic or patrimonial entity that, even without legal personality, can carry out the activities or behaviours that justify the grant, as well as legal entities that own or hold usufruct rights to the properties.
The application form and guidelines will be available to interested parties at the Registration Offices and Citizen Service Centres of the Tenerife Council, as well as on the electronic platform (sede.tenerife.es/). Likewise, information or advice can be requested through the citizen information phone 922 23 95 00, and via the email address [email protected].
