SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 2nd June (EUROPA PRESS) –
An elderly man aged 72 has passed away, and two individuals, aged 20 and 24, have sustained severe injuries following a head-on collision between two vehicles at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Sunday. The incident occurred between the 45th and 46th kilometres of the TF-5 road, as it passes through San Juan de La Rambla (Tenerife).
The Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (Cecoes) 112 reported that firefighters from the Consortium secured the vehicles involved in the accident and extricated the drivers from both cabins.
Emergency medical services (SUC) confirmed that the 72-year-old man was in cardiac arrest. Despite performing resuscitation attempts, they were unable to revive him, and his death was verified.
The 24-year-old male suffered severe head and facial injuries and was rushed by ambulance to the Canary Islands University Hospital.
The 20-year-old young man sustained serious abdominal trauma and was also transported by ambulance to Hospiten Bellevue University Hospital.
Additionally, a fourth individual experienced mild abdominal pain and received on-site medical attention.
Traffic regulation on the road was managed by the Civil Guard, who also conducted necessary investigations. The Road Maintenance Service personnel undertook cleaning operations on the affected stretch of road.
