SAN SEBASTIÁN DE LA GOMERA, 1st June (EUROPA PRESS) –
The conclusion of the cruise season in La Gomera saw more than 90 vessels docking at the Port of San Sebastián, welcoming over 100,000 passengers to the island.
President of the Cabildo, Casimiro Curbelo, emphasized that these visitors, arriving via this route, “use this initial experience as a reference for future holidays, extending their stay and embracing the advantages of a natural and sustainable destination.”
He added, “Over the past months, we have curated a calendar of activities for cruise passengers to promote spending, showcase the destination, and introduce them to the natural, cultural, and culinary wonders through sales outlets, guided tours, musical performances, and demonstrations of Silbo Gomero.”
Tourism Minister of the island, María Isabel Méndez, highlighted the positive outcomes from the cruise tourist season on the island, “resulting in near-daily activities with a direct economic impact on the local economy. This impact is seen through the purchasing and consumption of goods and services from local businesses, with an average spending of over €45 per person.”
