SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 30th May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Local Police in Santa Cruz de Tenerife have detained two men for carrying out theft at the same retail outlet on two separate occasions within a day in the Peru neighbourhood.
As per the City Council, the arrested individuals were identified as SOBP, aged 47, and JAPB, aged 48, the latter needing urgent medical attention due to drug poisoning.
The incidents occurred last Sunday when bystanders in the vicinity informed the local law enforcement about the occurrences.
Upon arriving at the store where the thefts transpired, they encountered the store clerk in a visibly agitated state.
The woman recounted that two men entered the establishment and illicitly took multiple items, engaging in a confrontation with her when she confronted them, following which they made a hasty departure.
Shortly thereafter, they returned and attempted to steal more products, with the employee trying to thwart their efforts and resorting to a self-defence spray.
THREATS MADE AGAINST THE CLERK
Meanwhile, several witnesses intervened to assist the clerk, prompting the culprits to threaten her with fatal consequences.
Upon their escape from the store and the subsequent arrival of the police, a search operation was initiated in the vicinity, leading to their apprehension on a street in Villa Ascensión.
Subsequently, the authorities placed them under arrest, during which JAPB started feeling unwell and had to be taken to a hospital. It was uncovered that this individual had presented false identification documents.
Ultimately, one of the arrested individuals has a history of similar offences, resulting in both of them being handed over to the judiciary.
