SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 29th May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The General Corps of the Canarian Police, via the Investigation Group of the Judicial Police Office in the region of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, has apprehended a 63-year-old individual in the town of La Matanza, Tenerife. The arrest was made based on a search and arrest warrant issued by the Investigative Court Number 2 of the Judicial District of La Orotava for an alleged sexual abuse offence.
The investigative team commenced investigations two months ago using various sources like municipal records, police records, and familial databases to determine the whereabouts of the individual, with no success until recently.
Eventually, the authorities were able to identify the vehicle the suspect was using in La Matanza, where he was reportedly taking care of an elderly person.
Upon reaching the location, the suspect was spotted outside the elderly person’s residence, seated inside a vehicle. His physical features matched the description of the person being sought, as stated in a report by the Canarian Police.
Subsequent to the suspect’s identification, he initially claimed to have no identification and verbally provided false information several times before revealing his real identity.
Furthermore, the individual admitted that he had fled to Venezuela two years prior to evade a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence, returning to Tenerife after the sentence expired, where he was ultimately arrested by Interpol.
Following necessary procedures, the suspect was apprehended and taken to the Civil Guard headquarters in La Victoria de Acentejo.
