When we think of the firefighters, we probably picture them in fires or natural disasters. These professionals are always vigilant in ensuring the safety of citizens and, whatever the circumstances, they do not hesitate to put their lives at risk to save others in danger.

But in their lesser-known – and we could also say more human – aspect, firefighters are accustomed, in their day-to-day, to helping neighbours in other less popular but no less important circumstances.

That is possibly what a resident of the municipality of Fasnia thought when she had to seek help on Tuesday to rescue her cat, which had climbed a palm tree near her house and could not come down on its own.

For this rescue, personnel from the Güímar Fire Station were activated, who, as seen in the image published on social media, placed a ladder from the window of the house so the animal could descend with its owner.

After several hours on top of the palm tree, the firefighters managed to rescue him safe and sound.
