Sole Giménez to Perform at the Firgas Big Band Festival

The town of Firgas is hosting today the second edition of the Firgas Big Band Festival, featuring the participation of three musical groups from Canary Islands, along with a performance by the singer Sole Giménez, one of the finest voices in Spanish pop and a founding member, songwriter, and singer of the group Presuntos Implicados.

The Firgas Big Band Festival is a free event open to the public taking place at the stage set up in the municipal parking lot, starting from 18:00, showcasing performances by the Big Band Jazz Tamos (Tenerife) and the Local Women Big Band (19:30), concluding with Sole Giménez’s performance alongside the Gran Canaria Big Band at 21:00.

The festival is focused on promoting Big Band music, featuring various activities to showcase regional and national ensembles, as well as prominent guest artists. Organized by the Department of Culture of the Firgas City Council, the festival includes concerts, workshops, and meetings for female composers and performers.

The aim of the festival is to highlight the artistic quality of the invited groups, promote cultural events in rural areas, and make it a musical attraction for residents and visitors from all municipalities of Gran Canaria, as well as to introduce the midland areas from a cultural, environmental, and sustainable perspective. “All this musical offering from the town of Firgas, known for its high musical and environmental potential.”

This second edition is dedicated to women and their relationship with the Big Band. The programme will start with a performance by the Big Band Jazz Tamos from Tenerife, conducted by Rebeca Píriz, offering a varied programme aimed at young people and families.
