The CEST backs the scheme of complimentary buses for employees at nine hotels

The Circle of Businesspeople and Professionals of the South of Tenerife (CEST) supports the Ashotel Shared Mobility project by the hotel employers’ association, which aims to enhance the mobility of sector employees and overcome the challenges they face daily. Sierra and González, Parque del Sol, Tacande, and the GF Hoteles Group, affiliated with the organization, are part of this initiative.

Javier Cabrera, president of CEST, points out that “we have been requesting improvements in public transportation for years, as it directly affects our employees who often lack the means to commute to their workplaces.” Therefore, he celebrates that “we in the private sector are coming together to address issues that affect us all.”

Cabrera thanks his fellow board members Santiago Sierra, from Sierra and González; David Piqué, from Parque del Sol; and Victoria López, from GF Hoteles, for their involvement in this project and highlights that they have put all their efforts “into being part of the change needed in the south of Tenerife.”

The Circle, through its president, expresses its hope that “this initiative is successful and that more operators and establishments are added.” Javier Cabrera conveys the organization’s belief that “it will be one of the keys to attracting professionals to our companies, providing a solution to the staff shortage we are exposed to, improving the quality of life of workers and residents in the south of Tenerife, considering the challenges of accessing housing and moving around the southern area of the island,” he concludes.

For six weeks, starting from the 6th of this month, Ashotel is implementing a pilot project that transports employees from nine hotels located in Costa Adeje to their workplaces. The use of an on-demand bus mobile application is required, offering three routes between San Isidro (Granadilla de Abona), Cabo Blanco, and Las Galletas-El Fraile (Arona) to the workplaces. The CEST indicates that there are already 400 users.
