Tenerife’s Cabildo has put forth a series of important recommendations for southern municipalities to proactively prepare for a potential swell episode expected from Wednesday to Friday.
This swell episode, featuring waves reaching heights of up to two and a half meters, is anticipated to primarily impact Adeje and Arico, with the potential to extend to El Rosario and Fasnia, as stated in a press release by the island’s governing body.
The Cabildo highlights that sea condition forecasts point towards the arrival of swell from the south, a direction uncommon for the islands, resulting in changes in currents and wave intensity along the coastline and beaches.
This scenario will coincide with spring tides during a full moon phase, with a low risk of coastal flooding but underscoring the importance of municipalities being informed to implement preventative measures.
Furthermore, Tenerife’s Cabildo has advised the general public to exercise extreme caution when accessing coastal areas.
