The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has initiated the deployment of a new traffic control system at the exit of the recently built 300 parking spaces at the beginning of the Las Teresitas beach, aimed at resolving the current congestion issues in the area.
This measure will enable vehicles exiting the parking facility to make a left turn towards the San Andrés exit without the need to enter the beach area to maneuver at the roundabout, a scenario that currently causes “traffic mayhem,” as stated by the City Council in an official communique.
Once the installation is finished, and the traffic light becomes operational, a trial period will commence to ensure its proper functionality.
“During sunny weekends, substantial queues form, prompting the reinforcement of both vertical and horizontal signage, as well as an increased police presence on peak days. Nonetheless, the preferred alternative we always advocate is utilising public transportation, while simultaneously exploring additional remedies,” they further explain.
