The City Council of Icod de los Vinos will hold its first major job fair this Friday all day at Plaza Andrés de Lorenzo Cáceres with 32 stands and 41 exhibitors from companies and associations, along with seven workshops and speeches.
The Mayor of Icod de los Vinos, Javier Sierra, stated that this job fair aims to “address the long-standing unemployment issues in the city“. Therefore, he believes, “we seek to create a meeting point for interested individuals and companies and entities that come together to inform and guide”.
On the other hand, the Employment Promotion Councillor, Mónica Hernández, emphasized that this is an informative and practical event for the citizens of Icod and the entire North of the Island. “We believe in teamwork, from all sides, and that is why we call for participation,” she said.
The event will take place between 10:00 and 17:00 hours and will feature associations and entities from the region. Additionally, organizations such as AJE Canarias, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Armed Forces will also be present.
Among the talks, topics such as the employment challenges in the Northern Region, emerging trends in the job market, and job placement are highlighted. The workshops, on the other hand, will provide practical information for creating and developing personal branding or the key steps to start a business.
During the morning, the program “Una más Una” will be broadcast live from the square by Canarias Radio, between 10:00 and 13:00 hours. All this with the aim of having a day focused on employment on the streets of the municipality of Icod.
