Preserve Tradition
Under the leadership of Isabel Socorro, the Department of Festivals and Historical Heritage emphasizes the ‘As it should be’ initiative to encourage the correct wearing of traditional attire. This initiative aims to safeguard the essence and significance of this celebration, a sentiment extended to the forthcoming Pilgrimage in honour of San Isidro Labrador and Santa María de la Cabeza on May 26.

Promoting Safe Spaces
In collaboration with the Department of Equality led by Macarena Hernández and the Federation of Arena and Laurisilva Women’s Associations (FAMAL), designated ‘Violet Points’ will offer guidance, awareness, support, and immediate assistance to victims of harassment, violence or discrimination. These points will be stationed outside the municipal Social Welfare area of Los Realejos City Council on Avenida de Canarias and at the field hospital in Casa de El Llano on Saturday, May 18, from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 19. A similar setup will be available during the Pilgrimage on May 26 from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Monday, May 27.
Operating under the theme ‘I want myself free… from sexist violence’, this project not only raises awareness about gender-based violence but also creates secure environments for responsible revelry during the festivities. Trained professionals will be on site to assist individuals in case of any incidents, ensuring immediate support, knowledge of rights, and access to necessary services.
In the event of harassment or violence, a dedicated helpline (618.816.270) is available to swiftly connect individuals to appropriate services during these large-scale gatherings.
Enhanced Transportation
Los Realejos City Council is running an extensive social media campaign to inform the public about increased public transport services catering to the Magicians’ Ball celebrations.
Additional buses will be deployed by Titsa, with three extra vehicles on routes connecting Puerto de la Cruz to Los Realejos from 6:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Another four vehicles will operate the same route from Icod de los Vinos. Further, from 04:45 to 10:00 on Sunday, May 19, seven buses will reinforce services from El Puente (Los Realejos) to facilitate transfers to various municipalities on the island based on demand.
The Department of Transport in Los Realejos, in collaboration with local taxi associations Servitaxi and Radio Taxi, has arranged for two supplementary stops near the festivity area, specifically on Avenida de Canarias (in front of Correos) and on Avenida de Los Remedios (near the Local Police Headquarters).
